ISDEF 2019: INKAS Canada showcases its Superior 4x4 APC vehicle.

The INKAS Superior is a 4x4 armored personnel carrier (APC) vehicle fully designed and manufactured by INKAS Armored Vehicle Manufacturing, a special-purpose vehicle manufacturer based in Canada. The Superior can be also used and configured as an armored medical evacuation vehicle (AMEV).
The INKAS Superior has a conventional design for a modern armored vehicle with the engine at the front, crew cabin in the middle, and the troop compartment at the rear. It has a crew of two including driver and a commander. It can accommodate 14 dismounted troops in APC configuration and six injured troops and two personnel in AMEV configuration.
The hull of the INKAS Superior provides protection Level CEN 1063 BR7 level ballistic protection against firing of small arms 7.62x51 calibers. There is a two-piece windscreen at the front of the vehicle protected by mesh. The vehicle is fitted with two doors on either side with small windows and firing ports on the top. On each side of the troop's compartment, there are three small windows with firing ports in the upper part. All the windows provide the same level protection as for the hull.
The INKAS Superior is motorized with an International DT530 inline-6 diesel engine developing 300 hp. at 2,200 rpm coupled to Allison 3000 6-speed automatic transmission. It can reach a maximum road speed of 130 km/h.
The roof of the vehicle can be fitted with a wide range of weapon systems according to customer’s requirements that can be armed with a machine gun up to 12.7mm caliber. The vehicle can be also equipped with a remotely operated weapon station.
