“CANSEC is the ideal location for Mack Defense to showcase the MSVS trucks and discuss how the MSVS program is driving our growth,” said David Hartzell, president of Mack Defense. “The event brings together North America’s largest defense leaders from the U.S. and Canada, providing the perfect opportunity to highlight our global reach, which is helping fuel our success.”
Through the MSVS program, Mack Defense is contracted to deliver more than 1,500 8x8 trucks, 161 Armored Protection Systems and more than 300 trailers, as well as an initial five years of in-service support for the SMP fleet operating in Canada and throughout the world. The trucks include multiple variants such as cargo, material-handling cranes, load-handling systems, gun tractor and mobile repair trucks.
To produce the trucks, Mack Defense is working with key strategic Canadian partners including Prevost; Dumur Industries Ltd; EODC Inc., Marshall Aerospace and Link Suspensions of Canada (Raydan Division). “Mack Defense is able to support all specific MSVS program needs, thanks to the collaborative efforts of our employees and our partners,’ added Alain Gauthier, MSVS program manager. “Mack Defense is built not only on the strength of Mack Trucks, but also the strength of our supplier partners. Together, we enable our customers’ success.”
Final assembly of the MSVS SMP takes place at a Prevost facility in Saint Nicolas, Quebec. The Volvo Group’s global supply chain, with a strong presence across Canada and in 42 other countries worldwide, serves as the foundation of the In-Service Support program, which provides service, maintenance and engineering support solutions.
