"This is a big support and a considerable boost to the Serbian Army’s combat readiness and capabilities. This is exceptional hardware with state-of-the-art equipment and thermal imaging devices. The crew can stay inside the vehicle round-the-clock. We are due to receive 10 armored vehicles and thank you, President Putin and Minister Shoigu, for this gift," Tanjug news agency quoted Vucic as saying. The Serbian authorities will soon issue an official statement on receiving the military hardware, he said.

In October 2018, the Serbian Air Force received six MiG-29 fighter jets handed over by Russia as part of military and technical assistance. During this year, Russia will deliver 10 helicopters to Serbia: seven Mi-35 and three Mi-17. Serbia is also to get 30 T-72 tanks and 30 BRDM-2 reconnaissance and patrol vehicles from Russia for free. Serbia is also holding talks with Russia on Buk-M1 and Buk-M2 air defense missile systems and Tunguska antiaircraft missile guns.
