The International Defence Industry Exhibition (MSPO) was founded in 1993 and is held annually at Targi Kielce in Kielce, Poland. The exhibition has expanded to become one of the largest trade fairs for military equipment in Central and Eastern Europe, attracting over 600 exhibitors from more than 30 countries and approximately 19,000 visitors each year. The MSPO presents the latest military technologies, armaments, and army products, drawing professionals from the Polish Army, the police, the Ministry of National Defence, and other government entities. The Targi Kielce International Defence Industry Exhibition regularly attracts a global audience of exhibitors and visitors. It serves as a venue for sharing experiences, showcasing new technologies, and forming international business connections. The trade show enables defence companies to present their latest products and services and develop strategic partnerships. Andrzej Mochoń, PhD, President of the Targi Kielce Management Board, mentioned that the current geopolitical situation, particularly Russia's actions against Ukraine, requires increased defence spending.
The Polish government has dedicated 4% of GDP to this purpose, reflecting agreement among the public, economic sectors, and political circles. Mochoń noted that the demand for equipment and supplies is likely to persist, maintaining interest in MSPO, even if the conflict in Ukraine concludes. He also forecasted continued tensions between major powers and political blocs, indicating a period of heightened defence spending.
