A batch of new R-419L1 radio stations was supplied to communication units of the combined arms army of the Eastern Military District deployed in Amur region, the Defense Ministry said.

"The new equipment provides protected videoconferences and transmits video at a high speed. The multirole stations have air conditioning and heating and comfortable workplaces," it said. The servicemen are already training to operate new communication means in field conditions.
The R-419L1 station is mounted on a Kamaz 4350-1321 chassis. R-419L1 is designed for rapid deployment of independent relay and cable lines, as well as branches of tropospheric and wired lines used to repair communication lines. The equipment provides protected teleconferences and transmits video at a speed of 2048-8448 Kbs.
Radio relay stations are equipped with equipment for determining coordinates and can implement topographic reference through the Russian global satellite navigation system GLONASS. In addition, multifunctional stations have an air conditioning and heating system, convenient places for work and leisure of military personnel.
