Speaking at the inauguration, Sarham said the Centre was built and donated to the division by IHS Towers Nigeria Limited, a mobile telecommunications infrastructure company. Sarham said: “The military all over the world hangs its life on communication due to the importance it has in enhancing military operations.
The GOC said the division was delighted to receive the facility, especially as the army could not rely alone on the government to fund all of its needs due to paucity of funds. He said: “It is a thing of joy to see individual or organisations supporting the military for smooth conduct of our operations and betterment of the society. “The division on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff appreciates IHS Towers Nigeria Limited for this kind gesture.”
Earlier, Akem Adesina, Director of Sales, IHS Towers, said “The Centre will provide requisite training needed to further improve efficiency, operational activities and administration in the military." He added that the Centre would be powered by solar energy as well as internet access for a period of one year.
