Thomas Electronics of Australia has successfully completes the prototype turret for ASLAV CPT
 

Sydney based aerospace & defence technology group Thomas Electronics of Australia has successfully completed the prototype turret assembly for the Australian Light Armoured Vehicle (ASLAV) Crew Procedural Trainer (CPT) simulator project. Thomas Electronics is acting as the major sub-contractor to Thales Australia on the project, which involves production of 9 ASLAV CPTs for use by the Australian Army.

Thailand and China will jointly develop the DTI-1G MLRS rocket launcher with guidance system
 

Thailand and China have agreed to jointly develop multiple rocket launchers with a guidance system as part of a move to strengthen military ties. The two sides reached the agreement during a visit to China by the Thai military top brass in what was described by Defence Minister Sukumpol Suwanatat as a call by "the whole family" to China which is "our close relative".

General Dynamics awarded a contract for conversion of M2 machine gun to M2A1 configuration

SAAB signs additional Carl-Gustaf 84mm weapon system contract with Australia
 

The defence and security company Saab has received an order fromAustraliafor ammunition to the Carl-Gustaf M3 weapon system. The order is placed under a standing offer signed in early 2011 and amounts to MSEK 199. It is the Australian Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO) that has selected Saab to be the provider of various versions of 84 mm Carl-Gustaf ammunition.

Armed forces of India want to modernize its artillery units in the past two decades
 

The Artillery equipments for the Indian army procured / upgraded in the past two decades includes Pinaka Rocket System; Smerch Rocket System; BrahMos Missile System and Upgradation of 130mm gun to 155mm/45 calibre. Procurement of new generation Artillery is in consonance with Artillery Profile 2027. This profile has a mix of 155mm/39 calibre, 155mm/45 calibre and 155mm/52 calibre gun system.

Cooperation agreement Deftech and Tata Motors to market high mobility 4x4 trucks in Malaysia
 

"Tata Motors and DRB-HICOM Defence Technologies Sdn Bhd (Deftech), a wholly-owned subsidiary of DRB-HICOM Berhad, Malaysia, have signed a cooperation agreement to enable both Deftech and Tata Motors to develop, promote and market Tata Motors high mobility 4x4 trucks with payloads ranging from 2.5 tonnes to 5.0 tonnes for the armed forces of Malaysia," a Tata release said here.

IVECO Defence Vehicles in talks with Colombia for delivery of 8x8 VBM Freccia infantry vehicle
 

Italian manufacturers IVECO Defence Vehicles are in talks with Colombian officials to negotiate the delivery of new military vehicles including the 8x8 IFV VBM Freccia. The Colombia Army has a requirement for a new 8x8 Infantry Fighting Vehicle as it is trying to improve its armoured component. The Colombian Army currently operates with the Brazilian made EE-9 Cascavel and EE-11 Urutu.

Russian Army Strategic Missile Troops will be equipped with more KAMAZ tactical vehicles in 2012
 

In 2012, the Russia armed Forces want to increase the delivery of new tactical vehicles for the Strategic Missile Troops (SMT). More than 100 KAMAZ trucks were delivered in 2011. In order to maintain the combat readiness and training of all units of SMT, 160 pieces of military equipment are planned to be delivered in 2012. The majority are KAMAZ-53501 trucks (134 units), fire trucks, bus, tractors for evacuation and mobile car repair.
