United States armed forces validates a new concept for amphibious capabilities during the military exercise Dawn Blitz 2017. A key focus during this exercise was integration between the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps to establish a powerful maritime force capable of meeting modern threats. The team examined the composite warfare construct and other command and control arrangements to promote unity of effort in littoral warfare.

The Norwegian Company KONGSBERG on Thursday, October 26, 2017, signed a contract worth €109 million with the Ministry of National Defence of the Republic of Lithuania to supply a NASAMS air defence missile system. U.S. soldiers of the Battery Echo, 62nd Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 69th Air Defense Artillery Brigade became the first unit to become mission qualified with the THAAD weapon system on Fort Hood. The Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD), formerly Theater High Altitude Area Defense, is an American anti-ballistic missile defense system designed to shoot down short, medium, and intermediate range ballistic missiles.

The first American-made Patriot PAC-3 air defense missile system could be delivered to Romania by end of the year. In October of this year, the Company Aerostar SA from Romania on behalf of Romania’s economy ministry has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with US Company Raytheon regarding the acquisition of the first Patriot missile system.

According to the Hindustan Times website, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) of India has deployed a Sherpa 4x4 armoured vehicle on a trial basis at the Delhi Airport. The CISF is in the process of procuring armoured tactical vehicle to increase protection of airport in case of terrorist attack.

Recently, Honeywell has tested its project of new combat vehicle as a part of the Darpa’s Ground X-Vehicle Technologies (GXV-T) program, with the goal to offer ground-vehicle technologies that would simultaneously improve the mobility and survivability of vehicles through means other than adding more armor, including avoiding detection, engagement and hits by adversaries.
