REVA Protection vehicle at AAD 2016 Africa Aerospace and Defence Exhibition in Waterkloof Air Force Base,South Africa, Wednesday September 15, 2016.

The new REVA protection vehicle is based on a TATA chassis but the design of the vehicle was performed by the South African Company ICP. The vehicle is especially design to offer a low-cost vehicle offering ballistic protection to internal security forces or police units.

The layout of the vehicle is very similar to a small bus but the body and all the windows is able to protect the people against ballistic threats. The vehicle provides protection Level B6 with 40mm armoured windows. The B6 armoring is a level of protection specified in the CEN ballistic guidelines (European Normalization). It specifies that the material can defeat multiple 7.62x51mm assault rifle rounds.

The REVA Protection vehicle is design to carry a total 8 people, with two seats at the front for driver and commander and six seats at the rear. There is one single door on each side of the hull and four small bulletproof windows. There is also a large windscreen at the front of the vehicle which offers same level of protection.

The REVA protection is motorized with a Diesel engine coupled to a manual transmission using a 4 wheeled chassis. The vehicle has a gross weight of around 6 tonnes.
