The tankmen are operating in conjunction with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). "The T-72B3 tank crews are firing organic projectiles and operating large-caliber antiaircraft machineguns against pop-up/pop-down and moving targets simulating a moving tank, an antitank grenade launcher and a recoilless gun at distances ranging between 300 meters and 2,000 meters," the press office said.

The drivers are practicing operating the tanks in rough terrain and negotiating natural obstacles, antitank ditches and barriers. Live-firing training is the first exercise in the current winter training session. It involves about 100 servicemen and more than 20 military hardware items.
