The financing of the new Panzerhaubitze 2000 (PzH 2000) will be provided through the Federal Budget's Individual Plan 60. This is where the funds for the Capability Enhancement Initiative are allocated. The Capability Enhancement Initiative is a security policy instrument of the federal government to support selected partner countries with military material, equipment, and training.

Since the German army (Bundeswehr) has handed over PzH 2000 155mm tracked self-propelled howitzers from its military inventory to Ukraine, the new guns will now be funded within the framework of the Capability Enhancement Initiative.

The new PzH 2000 howitzers are scheduled to be delivered to the German army in 2025 and 2026. The PzH 2000 is the Bundeswehr's standard medium-range artillery gun. Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, Germany has already supplied to Ukraine 14 self-propelled howitzers PzH 2000 in collaboration with the Netherlands.

The PzH 2000 (Panzerhaubitze 2000) is a German self-propelled howitzer developed by Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) and Rheinmetall for the German Army. It is considered one of the most advanced and powerful artillery systems in the world. The PzH 2000 features a 155-millimeter gun with a firing range of over 40 kilometers, depending on the ammunition used.

The vehicle is heavily armored and provides protection for its crew against conventional threats such as small arms fire, artillery fragments, and landmines. Its advanced fire control system enables the PzH 2000 to deliver highly accurate and rapid fire support, making it an effective weapon system for both offensive and defensive operations.

Due to its long-range, high precision, and impressive firepower, the PzH 2000 has been adopted by several European countries, including Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Greece.
