The homegrown drone is equipped with a piston engine and can travel a distance of 450 km in a one-way mission, General Ali Kouhestani said. The drone can take off from a vehicle, has a service ceiling of 12,000 feet, and can stay aloft for up to 3 hours, the general added, noting that it can hit targets with high accuracy with a 50kg warhead.

General Kouhestani stated that Me’raj-532 can be assembled and prepared for flight easily and rapidly, emerging as a suitable option for rapid reaction. He also unveiled plans to bring more new combat, training and suicide drones into operation for various missions carried out by the IRGC Ground Force units, Tasnim reports.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) is known to possess a significant military arsenal, including drones, which it has used in various conflicts in the region. In April 2023, the IRGC announced the successful test of its new drone, the Me'raj-532.

It is worth noting that Iran's drone program has been a source of concern for other countries, particularly Israel and the United States, who have accused Iran of using drones to carry out attacks on their interests in the region. The announcement of a new drone by the IRGC is likely to be closely watched by these countries and could potentially escalate tensions in the region.
