Russian army will be equipped with Future Soldier Equipment Ratnik in 2014
 

The Russian Defense Ministry will start mass purchases of domestically designed “future soldier” gear in 2014, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said. The gear, dubbed Ratnik, comprises more than 40 components, including firearms, body armor and optical, communication and navigation devices, as well as life support and power supply systems, and even knee and elbow pads.

Thai army takes delivery of the first five Ukrainian made T-84 Oplot main battle tanks
 

Malyshev Plant, part of the Ukroboronprom State Concern, has presented the first five Oplot main battle tanks to the customer - the Kingdom of Thailand. The first batch of Ukrainian-made T-84 Oplot main battle tanks was handed over to the Royal Thai Army by the Kharkiv Malyshev Plant on October 15, 2013.

Malyshev Plant, part of the Ukroboronprom State Concern, has presented the first five Oplot main battle tanks to the customer - the Kingdom of Thailand. The Defense Ministry will start official tests of a new thermal vision scope as part of Russia’s futuristic combat kit later this month, the system’s developer said Thursday, October 17, 2013. There are currently 160 prototype scopes at an army special forces (spetsnaz) facility near Moscow, said Oleg Yakovlev, advisor to the general director of the Tsiklon scientific research institute.
